Lexicana is a vocabulary-learning mobile application designed to make foreign-language study clear, structured, and motivating. Users choose a target language and progress through curated word sets, starting with the top 20 most common words and unlocking new levels as they learn. The app provides interactive cards with translations and definitions, Learn and Test modes, the ability to save words for later revision, profile settings, and premium access for unlimited learning.

Unstructured Vocabulary Learning: Learners often struggle to choose which words to study first and lose motivation when learning materials are not organized by priority or level. Low Retention: Passive memorization makes it difficult to remember new vocabulary and return to challenging words . Limited Accessibility: Users need a convenient mobile-first solution that supports multiple popular European languages and allows personalized learning preferences.

Solution

Structured Learning Path: Created a level-based vocabulary journey that starts with essential words and gradually unlocks new word packs as the learner progresses. Interactive Flashcards and Tests: Implemented Learn and Test modes, allowing users to reveal translations, review definitions, and actively test vocabulary knowledge. Personalized Account Experience: Built user profiles with editable personal information, target-language selection, authentication through email, Google, and Apple, and account-management controls.
